This spring Gainsborough and District Wildfowling Association held its second annual "Introduction to Field Sports" day for juniors. The event came about when some members expressed concern that fewer children were entering the sport. Access to the countryside and field sports can be quite difficult for those not actually involved and there is also a myth that it is only for the wealthy and elite. Cheque for the GAPA - (published in the Gainsborough Standard 05/11/09)

Gainsborough Wildfowler's Cub presented a cheque of £450 to Gainsborough Adventure Playground.

The Wildfowlers are a shooting club, of about 50 members and the money was raised through a raffle and auction at the Wildfowlers' recent 50th anniversary dinner.

The dinner was attended by around 100 people and was held at Weston Rooms, Gainsborough.

Another cheque for spider (published in Sporting Gun May 2009)

Gainsborough and District Wildfowling Association has presented a further £630 donation to Spider's Appeal, following a garden party and auction.

It was presented to Barry Atkinson and Spider by Sir Malcolm Guthrie, Patron of GADWA, supported by Harry Abbott, Chairman and Dave Otter, Vice Chairman, along with other committee and association members.

GADWA first supported the Appeal in 2007, with a donation of £700.
